Chaverim engages Young Jewish Professionals through dynamic and meaningful programs that provide opportunities for leadership development, spiritual growth, networking and social activities, as well as tikkun olam through social action and philanthropic projects.
Torah on Tap
Chaverim has a monthly program which is usually the first Saturday night of every month called Torah on Tap. We will meet at different Chaverim participant's homes to have a potluck dinner (dairy or vegetarian only) and have a discussion on the weekly Torah portion led by different guest speakers or Chaverim participants. B.Y.O.B. We hang out, eat, drink, talk Torah, play games and have Havdalah.

Social Action Project
Each year, during the High Holidays, Temple Israel collects food for ECHO. This year, we are also collecting items for Big Bend Homeless Coalition, The Shelter, Refuge House, and the Capital Area Healthy Start Coalition. Please drop off your items at Temple Israel between now and Yom Kippur. Bags of items may be placed in both foyers. If you want your contribution to go to a particular organization, please label the bag. It is consdered a mitzvah to donate to those less fortunate than us during the high holidays.
