About Us

Temple Israel - Tallahassee now counts more than 260 families as members, hosts a vibrant and inclusive religious school, and is one of the city's most respected early learning centers.

We are proud of how each member brings his or her own story to our diverse community. All members are valued, whether belonging to a family with a multi-generational history at our congregation or he or she is new to the city or Temple Israel - Tallahassee.  We welcome Interfaith couples and families, and people of all ages and backgrounds who are seeking a warm Jewish community. We hope you will consider Temple Israel - Tallahassee a place to call home.

Learning

The emphasis and value of education is strongly embedded in Jewish culture, and at Temple Israel, our goal is to provide lifelong Jewish learning. Temple Israel's educational programs are first-class, with an early learning center onsite, one of the finest religious schools in the city, an active teen program, and a robust adult education program.  We have a thriving guest speaker and musician program, with presentations and recitals on spiritual topics, Jewish music, and current events from a Jewish perspective. We also host an onsite library with resources free to members.

Prayer & Worship

Temple Israel offers a dynamic blend of worship opportunities to provide a meaningful prayer experience for all. Music and song are an important part of all our services. Our beautiful main sanctuary and the Gibbs Family Chapel both provide awe-inspiring spaces in which to pray and practice Jewish ritual life.
