Each of us responds to loss in a different way. What unites us all, despite our varying experiences and feelings, is the importance of memory. Judaism has long taught that memory is crucial for continuity. It helps sustain us and allows us to build on our past. While we remember those who came before us at all times, we especially honor their memories by marking sacred time together during these High Holy Days.

We at Temple Israel are here for you in your times of remembrance. Our Memorial and Cultural Fund helps maintain Yahrzeit plaques and supports events related to heritage and memory. Please consider a donation to this Fund through adding your loved one’s name(s) to our annual Book of Remembrance. These entries are the Fund’s main source of income each year.

The minimum cost for an entry is $36 for up to six names. Married couples’ names may be put together on one line. Otherwise, each name after the first six is an additional $5.
