High Holy Day Appeal 5786/2025

Dear Temple Israel Family,
As we move from the sweetness of Rosh Hashanah into the reflection of the ten Days of Awe, culminating in Yom Kippur, we are reminded of the sacred rhythm of Jewish life: renewal, reflection and returning.

This year, our Temple is embracing that rhythm with clarity and purpose. Through our strategic planning process, we’ve identified three pillars that will guide us forward:
• Deepening social and spiritual connection through havurot, shared experiences, and meaningful gatherings

• Living our values through justice, amplifying our voice with partners like the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism (RAC) and local partners, including the Capital Area Justice Ministry and showing up for those in need through mitzvot designed to address basic needs

• Ensuring financial sustainability so that our programs, staff and building can thrive for generations to come We are proud of the work we’re doing. But we cannot do it without you.

To achieve a balanced budget, we’ve set two ambitious goals:

• Fundraising of $56,500 (including $31,000 for the Jewish Food Festival)

• Membership commitment and payment of membership responsibility of $535,000, representing 100% participation

Right now, we’re at 50% of our membership commitment. That means between membership responsibility and fundraising, we still need to raise $321,500 in revenue. And we’re responding with creativity and commitment: through fundraising events like our Jewish Food Festival, member-hosted dinners and parties, building rentals, grant applications, and even exploring solar panels to reduce our $65,500 utilities bill.

Your High Holy Day gift is more than a donation. It’s a declaration: That this Temple matters. That Jewish life in Tallahassee matters. That community, justice, and spiritual connection matter. And that each of us is responsible, and has the SACRED OBLIGATION to sustain Jewish life in Tallahassee and the Big Bend region for generations to come.

Whether you give $18 or $1,800, your contribution helps sustain our sacred space and the people who make it vibrant. It supports our Rabbi, our staff, our programs, and our ability to welcome every soul who walks through our doors.

If not YOU, who? If not NOW, when? Please make your High Holy Day gift today at High Holy Day Appeal 5786/2025 - Form - Temple Israel - Tallahassee, or mail your contribution to 2215 Mahan Dr., Tallahassee, FL 32308. Together, we are continuing an 88 year legacy of building a Reform Congregation that reflects the best of who we are—and the boldness of who we hope to become. L’Shanah Tovah and G’mar Chatimah Tovah,
